After a hectic week of packing up and saying goodbye to Washington, I finally completed my transition to Maine to begin my apprenticeship on Frith Farm.
I had visited two weekends ago to figure out whether or not I was making the right decision to commit to working the full season from April to October. I haven't felt this right about a decision for as long as I could remember. I have my parents, co-workers, mentors and friends to thank for being overwhelmingly supportive about the idea.
It's beautiful up here, although the cold will be something I'll have to get used to. It might snow when I wake up tomorrow so it remains to be said if I manage to get up early enough to move the egg-mobile a few yards and feed the chickens. We'll see!
