No matter how many bucketfuls of kale and spinach I could gather from outside, they shrunk to a fourth of their original size within minutes getting tossed into the pan. Some chili flakes, sea salt, garlic and soy sauce helped to add flavor, and I thought of pouring in a shot of vodka to substitute for dry sherry (to make it feel like a complete stir-fry). That experiment will have to wait.
I served lunch for seven today and cooked up some fried rice to pair with my makeshift stir-fry dish. Despite the random pine needle and blade of grass ending up on someone's plate, I survived in the kitchen yet again.
